OS-9

OS-9 is a real-time operating system ( RTOS ) from Microware Systems that is intended especially for embedded applications. OS-9 has a modular architecture that supports configuration changes and upgrades. It can support a wide variety of applications such as networking, Web browsing, graphics, videoconferencing, and multimedia.

Important features of OS-9 include power management, input/output (I/O) management, scalable I/O architecture, support for standard and custom networking protocols, embeddable multimedia support, a Java solution for embedded applications, and support for real-time program analysis and debugging. The operating system is field-upgradable.
