First there was the microprocessor. Then there was the client-server link, the Internet and collaboration. Microsoft CTO Ray Ozzie had a hand in each of these major technology industry disruptions. In the keynote address at Tech Ed 2006, Ozzie said the next big disruption will be Internet-based services. They are already in use by millions of teenagers around the world, Ozzie said, and it's only a matter of time before developers can leverage these services in the enterprise. You can read more about Ozzie's keynote here.

In our latest SearchVB.com podcast, site editor Jack Vaughan talks about Ozzie's address and offers his thoughts on Microsoft's ventures in the Internet service space -- one where Google and Yahoo have made much progress already.
