Murach's ADO.NET 2.0 Database Programming with VB 2005 introduces developers to ADO.NET 2.0, illustrates the steps necessary to build WinForms and ASP.NET database applications and explains how to manage database processing, data retrieval and database management.

Chapter 3, How to work with data sources and datasets, covers the basics of first creating and then using data sources. Creation is quite simple, thanks to the Data Source Configuration Wizard. Use, in this case, is demonstrated binding a DataGridView control and TextBox controls to a data source. The chapter concludes with some advice for data error handling and a brief look at the graphical Dataset Designer.
